Privacy Policy — SEO Issue Tracker

Last updated: September 29, 2026

ShopBoost Labs ("we," "us," or "our") operates the SEO Issue Tracker app (the "App") for Shopify. This policy explains what information the App accesses, stores, changes, and sends to service providers when a merchant installs and uses it.

Shopify Store Data We Access

The App reads supported Shopify resources so merchants can audit and fix SEO/content issues. Depending on the resource, this can include:

The audit itself is read-only. The App changes Shopify content only after an explicit merchant action, such as saving an individual fix or applying a selected bulk fix. Depending on the resource and requested fix, a merchant can intentionally update SEO meta fields, titles, handles/URL slugs, body or description content, and supported image alt text. The App does not make these content changes automatically in the background.

Customer and order data: the App does not request Shopify customer or order scopes and does not intentionally collect or store customer names, customer addresses, order history, or payment information.

Information We Store

We store the minimum application data needed for authentication and audit history, including:

We do not intentionally persist full product/page/article/collection body content as a separate content archive. Store content is fetched from Shopify when needed for audits or merchant-requested fixes.

Optional AI Features and Third-Party Processing

Some fix-page features use OpenRouter and a downstream AI model provider. These features are optional and run only after an explicit merchant action.

Depending on the requested AI feature, the App can transmit:

This information is sent only to generate the requested suggestion. OpenRouter proxies requests to a selected model provider, so both OpenRouter and that downstream provider can process the submitted request under their applicable privacy and data-retention policies. The App does not currently represent these AI requests as guaranteed zero-data-retention requests.

ShopBoost Labs does not sell merchant store data or use submitted merchant content for unrelated advertising.

Data Retention and Deletion

When a merchant uninstalls the App, the App deletes its shop-scoped session data and stored audit history through Shopify's uninstall handling. Shopify can also later deliver the mandatory shop/redact privacy webhook, which deletes the same shop-scoped application data.

Customer privacy webhooks are acknowledged without customer-record processing because the App does not store customer records.

Data Security

Application and session data are stored in access-controlled infrastructure. Network communication with Shopify, OpenRouter, and other service infrastructure uses HTTPS/TLS in transit. Access to production systems and secrets is restricted to operational use.

Service Providers

We use infrastructure and service providers to operate the App, including Shopify for the merchant platform and authentication, hosting/database infrastructure for application operation, and OpenRouter/downstream AI providers for optional merchant-triggered AI suggestions.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy when the App's functionality, data handling, or legal requirements change. The "Last updated" date above identifies the current revision.
